COMPTON, Los Angeles County — October 26, 2026. Caltrans has scheduled another week of overnight restrictions on State Route 91 between Gardena and Cerritos as crews work on signs, curbs, gutters and sidewalks. The October 26–30 advisory specifically calls out the westbound SR-91 off-ramp at Alameda Street/Santa Fe Avenue in Compton for bridge demolition related to upgraded bridge railings.

According to the state agency, crews also expect overnight restrictions affecting eastbound and westbound SR-91 and some connections to I-710. The wider project area reaches the Orange County line; that does not mean the entire freeway is fully closed throughout the night. Lane and ramp schedules differ by stretch and are subject to change.

For Compton residents, the ramp matters

Anyone normally using the Alameda Street/Santa Fe Avenue freeway exit should check whether its planned closure is active before leaving. Even when through lanes remain open, loss of a familiar exit can change the most practical route into a neighborhood. Caltrans says detours will be marked where ramps or connectors close.
